EB technology joins all over the world

In 2003, the electron beam specialists from Steigerwald Strahltechnik joined forces with the PTR Group at Global Beam Technologies AG and have since been working together on high-quality, safe and durable welded joints all over the world.

Steigerwald Strahltechnik GmbH is a global, medium-sized company with headquarters in Maisach in the west of Munich. Steigerwald Strahltechnik was founded in 1963 by Dr. med. h.c. Karl-Heinz Steigerwald. He built the first electron beam processing machine in 1952 and is regarded as the founder of modern EB technology.

PTR Strahltechnik GmbH is located in Langenselbold near Hanau. The PTR Group includes the sister company PTR-Precision Technologies Inc. in Enfield, Ct., USA.

PTR in Langenselbold developed from the electron beam welding department of the former Hanau company Leybold-Heraeus, later Leybold AG. PTR/Enfield was formerly the electron beam division of the US company Hamilton Standard, Ct..
