The starting signal for more innovations

At the ArianeGroup competence center in Munich-Ottobrunn, the booster rockets for the European Ariane launch vehicle are developed and manufactured using Steigerwald EB systems. Here, the focus of EB welding is on processing larger workpieces with complex weld seam geometries or processing zones. The welding process takes place in a Steigerwald electron beam chamber machine. This means that even complex workpieces, which would otherwise have to be laboriously manufactured from a single piece, can be welded together from several parts to form a reliable whole at low cost.

"With electron beam technology, we can process large and complex workpieces flawlessly in the welding systems. The welding process takes place in a Steigerwald electron beam chamber machine. This allows even complex workpieces to be cost-effectively welded from multiple parts into a secure whole." (André, Aerospace Engineer)
